If the thought of emailing someone you know in the entertainment industry makes you break out in hives...
Â
If you're like, I don’t KNOW anyone in the industry, where the fuck do I even start...
Â
Then let's do a...
Do you feel personally attacked :) by any of the following?
Â
- You have an industry contact you know could help you, but you’re afraid of fucking up the interactionÂ
- You’re exhausted from attending networking events and reaching out to everyone you know, but it’s not actually doing anything for your career and frankly, you’re starting to get a little bitterÂ
- You keep getting “networking advice” that sounds crazy (and maybe a little embarrassing), but you feel like you need to do it to move your career forwardÂ
Â
Let’s figure it all out together.
Â
Sometimes you need an outside eye on your challenges, and sometimes that outside eye can be a working screenwriter and experienced career coach :-)Â
Unlike lots of other screenwriting gurus or Hollywood industry experts, I am a) actively working as a writer and happy to share my current personal impressions of the biz with you and b) a trained, certified coach who knows how to listen and guide you to your own solutions.Â
TOGETHER we figure out how to get your script read by people who will love it (and can actually do something for your career).Â
Who am I?Â
I’m Julia - I’m a Los Angeles-based screenwriter (ABC, CBS, Amazon), writing coach, and postpartum doula/lactation educator (bet you didn’t see that one coming).Â
I started my career in entertainment as a development assistant - meaning, I read a GREAT MANY scripts, fielded emails, gatekept my bosses :) and learned a TON about how a script goes from a pdf getting emailed around to money in the writer’s bank account to show on your TV screen.Â
During the 2023 writers’ strike, I staved off credit card debt (kind of) by teaching and coaching - I am now a sought-after screenwriting coach with a methodology for coaching screenwriters to overcome procrastination, writer’s block, and career stagnation. My coaching has been described “a magical drug,” “a godsend,” “perceptive as hell” and “legit brilliant.”Â
